Beypore is a small village located on the Indian coast in the district of Kozhikode. Local people who resided here were named Beypore as “Vaypura”. Sultan Tipo rechristened this small coastal village as Sultan Pattanam. The village of Beypore holds historical importance, as it was an important trading port in the past and is witness to all the trades that commenced between traders of the Middle East and Asia. A small ship yard is also present here, where wooden ships are built.
