Location: Juma Masjid is located in the heart of the Lucknow city in Tehseenganj, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Description: Juma Masjid is one of the popular mosques in India. The structure of this mosque stands on about two hundred and sixty pillars and supports about fifteen arched domes. Juma Masjid, which means a Mosque of Assembly or Congregational Mosque, is a popular pilgrimage site for Muslims where they worship every Friday. Juma Masjid in Lucknow was constructed by Sultan Ahmed Shah in the year 1423. But due to the sudden death of the Emperor, the remaining construction work was completed in the supervision of Malika Jahan, who was one of the wives of the King and due to this reason this mosque is also known as Masjid Malika Jahan. The magnificent architectural design of this mosque enhances its significance and attracts a huge number of tourists around the year. The Juma Masjid in Husainabad was entirely made from yellow sandstone, known as lakhauri bricks in India, which adds on to its grandeur.

Activities: The walls, pillars and ceiling of this mosque are plastered with lime and the designs of flowers and foliage are embellished with colored stucco motifs which compels the tourists to capture the mesmerizing sights of this picturesque mosque in their cameras.
