Location: The Picture gallery or Taluqdar Hall is situated near Chota Imambara in district Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Description: Picture Gallery of Lucknow city is also known as Taluqdar Hall and it is a two storey structure which is located in a small area of terracotta colored building. This hall was built by Nawab Mohammad Ali Shah in the year 1838. On one side of this building there is a small mosque and on the other side a Hamam, which means a place used by people for ablution. This hall has total twelve doorways and due to this reason it is also known as Baradari. There are many photographs and oil paintings of various rulers in this gallery. These pictures and oil paintings were designed by European artists, named Harrison, Dauling, Gravet and D.S. Singh who came to India on a tour and stayed for the time period from 1882 to 1885. It is said that British government presented these paintings to Anjuman. These paintings are really fascinating and irrespective of the direction from which you are looking at these pictures, it seems that these all are watching you.
