Dedicated to god Muruga, the Vadapalani Murugan Temple is situated in Vadapalani. Various other gods and goddesses, like Lord Shiva,Lord Ganesha and Goddess Parvati are also worshiped here. A beautiful 4 ft high sculpture of Lord Murugan beholds the visitor’s attention.
Pillars of the temple are inscribed with the images of Lord Hanuman and the butter which is offered by the devotees is applied to these images. It is believed that if a person prays with clear conscience all his desires will be fulfilled.
Entrance of the temple is crowned with a tower on which different images that depict legends of Skanda Puranam are inscribed. A tank is also present in front of the temple. Large numbers of weddings are held in this well known temple and it is famous for bringing people together. So while on a trip to Chennai, never forget to seek Lord’s blessings and mark a visit to this temple.
