Sringeri Saradha Peetam Temple

Established in the 8th century, Sringeri Saradha Peetam Temple is a monastery that was created by Adi Shankara. With its head quarters in Sringeri, this place is regarded as an important Advaita Mathas for Hindus. Different branches of this temple are located in various cities of India and abroad.

The presiding deity of this temple is Goddess Sharada, who is considered as the divinity of supreme knowledge. Idol of the goddess is made of gold and is believed to be present from the time of Jagadguru Vidyaranya Swaminaha.
