The temple of Ayya Vaikundar Nizhal Thangal is distinct from any other temple as there is no statue of god or any priest present here. The temple consists of a chair with a saffron cloth and a mala of Rudraksha placed over it. Behind the chair a mirror is hung on the wall. All these items symbolize the God.
Actually this place serves as a center of equanimity for people as there is no bias of caste or religion. This place serves the purpose of a community center. Large gatherings can be organized in this place and facilities for cooking are also available here. Nizhal Thangal serves as community schools also. In short we can infer that although this is a temple, but it serves a whole lot of purposes as it offers a tranquil and serene ambiance where people can come and spend some peaceful moments.
