Theosophical Society

Founded by Col. Olott and Madame Blavatsky in United States of America, in the year 1875 Theosophical Society is a worldwide organization whose main motive is universal brotherhood based on comprehension of life for the benefit of humanity.

In 1882, it was shifted to Adyar in the city of Chennai. This society houses a library where a large number of rare oriental manuscripts that have been written on palm leaves are kept. A lot of archeological and ancestral values are connected with these manuscripts which make them important and famous. People that have interest in knowing more about history should definitely make a visit to this society.

For the nature enthusiasts, Theosophical Society also includes Huddleston Garden. The lush greenery of the garden will surely impress the tourists. Spread over an area of 260 acres, this is considered as a gateway to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
