National Art Gallery (Victoria Memorial Hall)

Victoria Memorial Hall another name for the National art gallery is situated in the Pantheon complex, Egmore. The building which got its design from Jaipuri-Jaina style is pink in color. This was built in 1907 by T. Namberumal Chetty. This gallery has an enormous collection of artwork of Indian tradition, including Rajput and Mughal schools. This art gallery is a hub for antiques like 11th and 12th century handicrafts, 17th century paintings, 10th and 13th century bronzes and Mughal and Rajasthani paintings from 16th and 18th centuries.
