Description: Mahabaleshwar served as the summer capital of the Bombay Presidency during the times when colonial rule existed in India. A lot of English people resided in the city of Bombay, now known as Mumbai. It is believed that the English people residing there might have got this Catholic Church constructed in order to be able to offer prayers during the holy mass or for their weekly Sunday prayers. The Church has stained glass windows that lit up and come to life when sunlight falls on them. The church stands in ruins now but once stood as a proud witness of the glorious past of India. One interesting fact that can leave everyone surprised is that this Roman Catholic Church is being looked after by a Hindu Family.
Activities: This ancient Roman Catholic Church has a lot of significance for local people and a lot of Christians residing here visit the church to offer their prayers.
