St. Aloysius Chapel

The St. Aloysius Church is showcased in the premises of the St. Aloysius College and is located in the central part of the city of Mangalore. This chapel was established in the year of 1885 by the renowned Rev Father Joseph Willy and has a close resemblance to the Sistine Chapel in Rome.

The ceiling of the chapel has magnificent art work and paintings, like the oil paintings and the fresco paintings. This spectacular work of art was done in the beginning of the 20th century by the famous Italian painter called Br Anthony Moschemi. The paintings on the roof include the scenes of Crowning of the Cock and many important saints of that time. It is a must visit for the art lovers.
