Location: Jama Masjid is located in the Chowk Bazaar of Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Description: Jama Masjid was founded by Abd-Un-Nabi, Khan who was appointed as a Governor of Itawa by great Emperor Aurangzeb. It is believed that the land on which this mosque is built was purchased from some butchas and the remaining land was obtained from a family of Muslim priests, known as Kazis. The descendants of this Kazi family still reside in Kush Mahalla of Mathura city. The construction of this mosque was completed in the year 1662. This mosque is very famous for its architectural style and intricate carvings. Jama Masjid of Mathura is adjacent to Krishna Janmabhoomi temple complex. There are two big tombs, one on the left and another on the right side of the mosque’s entrance. This mosque is easily reachable by a rickshaw, auto or other means of transport available n Mathura city. The captivating view of Jama Masjid is worth watching and compels tourists to capture the beautiful sights of this mosque in their cameras. The beauty of this mosque has made it one of the famous attractions of Uttar Pradesh.
