One of the most popular attractions in Idukki, the Idukki Arch Dam is a massive hydroelectric project encompassing 20 Small and Big Dams, 5 Rivers, a handful of Underground Tunnels and an underground power generator.
Lying in the heart of the district, the dam is ideally located between 2 mountains – Kuravanmala (839 meters) & Kurathimala (925 meters) and is naturally surrounded by lush natural environs. Located on Periyar River, the breathtaking view of the surroundings is the main reason of its grandeur. August to March is the best season to experience this place.
