Srirangapatna is worshipped in the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, as the main deity named Sri Ranganathaswamy. The facial expression of the idol of Lord is humane and draws your attention. The temple has numerous magnificent pillars and is quite dark.
The temple is spacious enough and visitors can easily take a walk around. The premises have the Lord sitting on a snake’s back and black stone is used for carving out the statue. To add to his beauty and gentleness, the idol depicts a philanthropic smile. Lakhadweepotsava is an occasion when one lakh lamps are lighted during the purge of Sakranthi.
The Puja is performed between 8 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The temple remains open all around the year for devotees.
