The Undavalli Caves are positioned in the Undavalli village of Guntur district close to Vijayawada and were built in the 7th century and is four storied structure. The Undavalli caves are placed at the meeting point of the magnificent Krishna River. One of the major attractions of this place is the enormous sculpture of Lord Vishnu, made from a single granite piece, in its tilted back position.
These caves appeal most of the tourists because of its marvelous cut in architectural specimen and amazing statues. It also believed that these caves were used as a place to rest in by the Buddhists during the monsoon season.
