Kondapalli Fort

The Kondapalli fort was built on a hillock near the place of Vijayawada during the 14th century. It is believed that this three storied rock tower was constructed by Prolaya Vema Reddi, the originator of the Reddy Kingdom of Kondaveedu. Many historians further believe that the fort was originally constructed in the 7th century by King Krishna Deva Raya and the fort got refurbished later during the rule of Qutub Shahis.

One of the major attractions for the tourists is the Dargah of Gareeb Sahib who was a Persian saint. Also Kondapalli is famous for toys which are called the Kondapally toys. This place has been steadily attracting tourist’s attention and is a pleasant picnic spot.
