Description: Yarab Tso is considered as a holy lake located in the valley of flowers, Nubra. This lake is situated in the heart of mountains. It was a hidden lake till it was globally promoted by the Jammu and Kashmir tourism department and now it attracts a number of tourists every year. This lake is surrounded by beautiful brown mountains and green bushes. As it is a part of the tri-armed Nubra valley, one can explore this area by visiting Yarab Tso Lake and some of the famous places located nearby, like Samstanling Gompa, which consists of seven temples, and Sumur monastery. Tourists can see a collection of ancient murals and thankgas in these monasteries which represent the ancient art of Tibetan Buddhism. The lake lies in Sumur village which is fed by rivers, named as Shyok and Nubra.
