Location: Tsarap River is present in the eastern part of the Zanskar valley in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir State.

Description: The region ofJammu and Kashmir is diverse, due to the presence of several valleys and rivers. Tsarap River is one of the popular Himalayan Rivers which flows through the Kashmir valley. It is also known by another name, “Tsarap Chu”. This is one of the major attractions for tourists, which are worth seeing. This picturesque river is about 182 kilometers long and blessed with the wealth of nature. The river rises from the glaciers near Pankpo La Pass and joins the three rivers of Lingti, Yunan and Sarchu after reaching Sarchu. After flowing down the Zanskar valley, it passes through Stod River and thus forms Zanskar River, which is a tributary of Indus River. Tourists may enjoy the breathtaking view of the river and surrounding landscapes. Also contributing to the agricultural production of Zanskar valley, Tsarap River is the best place to experience the beauty of nature.
