Location: Kangra is positioned on the confluence of river Bener and Majhi. It is a charming town in the valley of Kangra.

Description: The city in the past was called as Nagarkot. Katoch Kshatriya Rajputs are said to be the people who led to the formation of this town. It is considered to be a city which faced a number of attacks from the foreign kingdoms. As a result of this it saw a number of political upheavals. Kangra in the ancient times was a land known for its glory. Kangra is well known as well as liked by many people because of the crafts and paintings which serve as an embodiment of culture and tradition of this beautiful place. Shawls that are embroidered in Kangra are famous all over the world. A number of tourist attractions can be witnessed near Kangra, like Baijnath temple, Brijeshwari temple, Baba Baroh, Chamunda Devi temple and Jwalamukhi temple. Kangra presents an extensive view of architectural monuments that exist here since ancient times.
