Location: Kedar Ghat, one among the 84 ghats, is located on the bank of river Ganga in Varanasi, the holy city of India. It is at a distance of about 5 Km from Varanasi railway station.

Description: Kedar Ghat was built a long time back and is considered as a place to purify soul, achieve salvation or moksha. Like other Ghats in Varanasi, Kedar Ghat holds religious significance. Various temples are situated at this ghat, which are the shrines of different gods. One of the temples is Kedareswara Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The ghat incorporates a Kund, known as Gauri Kund, named after the wife of Lord Shiva. A myriad of devotees and saints can be seen at Kedar Ghat during festivals like Mahashivaratri, Dussehra, Hanuman Jayanti, Rath Yatra and Kartik Purnima. The spiritual ambiance of Kedar Ghat adds uniqueness to these festivals. It is great to visit this Ghat, especially during festivals when this amazing ghat becomes even more splendid.

Activities: Besides experiencing a felling of spirituality, tourists can take a holy dip in the Ganga River for purifying their soul. Participation in Pooja helps improve the karma of the devotees.
