Location: One of the beautiful ghats, Hanuman Ghat is situated at a holy place, named Juna Akara, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
Description: Earlier known as Rameswaram Ghat, Hanuman Ghat is believed to be built by Lord Ram himself as his dedication to Hanuman, his disciple. Another belief associated with this Ghat is that a Vaishanavaite pilgrim, Vallabhacharya meditated at Hanuman Ghat for many years, where he used to teach about the greatness of Lord Krishna to his followers. The cleanliness of this ghat is what makes it different from other ghats of Varanasi. Two temples located at Hanuman Ghat are visited by many tourists and devotees. The ghat is believed to be upraised by Tulsidas, the great preacher, which is why it attracts many tourists. An image of Riru Bhairava, one of the eight popular Bhairavas, can be seen at Hanuman Ghat. A large number of devotees visit this ghat to pay homage to deity, especially during religious occasions.
Activities: A walk along the river rejuvenates the mind and soul. Tourists can pay homage to the deity by participating in Pooja and other rituals. A beautiful view of the city can be experienced through boating. Moreover, the culture of this holy city can be explored by walking along Hanuman Ghat.
