Jaigad Fort, Ganapatipule

The Jaigad Fort is sea fort that is situated at the top of a peninsula in the district of Ratnagiri. This fort is nestled on a cliff overlooking the bay. The bay is formed where the Shastri River enters the Arabian Sea. The Fort is at a distance of around 35 km from Ganapatipule.

You can even see a lighthouse and a jetty port located nearby the fort. Most parts of this fort are in a ruined condition; still the exterior wall and bulwarks are visible. A deep gorge acts as a fence on the port side, which is away from the edge of the cliff. But there is no wall or other fortification on the east side.
