This hill is a vantage point from where tourists can get a bird’s eye view of the plains, Rangeet as well as Teesta River. In local language, Durpin means binocular and on a clear day vacationers can get a magnificent view of the entire range of mountains including Kanchenjunga. Durpin Dara hill is located at a height of 1372 meters above the sea level. Tourists can visit the Zang Dhok Palri Monastery which is located atop the hill and was established in the year 1976 by Dalai Lama. The Indian army also has their base on this hill because of its proximity to the border.
