A well known tourist destination in Mirik, this is also an important Buddhist centre of this region and shelters around 500 monks who learn about Buddhist philosophy and religious rituals associated with Buddhism. This place had been constructed as a retreat centre by Kyabje Boker Rinpoche in the year 1984; it was later transformed into Buddhist monastery. A monastic college that has been given the name Shedra is run in this monastery. This monastery is considered as very good place were Buddhist teachings are imparted and monks are enlightened about the spiritual bliss. Buddhists from the entire region of Mirik visit this monastery in order to have religious knowledge. This monastery is also good for people who are in search of peace of mind and tranquility and due to all these features this monastery is considered as one of the popular attractions of Mirik region.
