The town of Kurseong has some popular temples and one of these temples is the Ambotia Shiva temple. Positioned in the Ambotia tea estate, the temple is around 5 kilometers away from the Kurseong town. This temple is famous not only for its religious importance, but also for its scenic beauty. An attractive orange orchard can be seen near the temple. The route to this temple also presents a splendid view of the Ambodia Landslide that exists about one kilometer downward, bending around a thousand meters to Balshan. The climate of this place remains comfortable and pleasant throughout the year, except during the monsoon period that receives heavy rainfall. People from all over the country come to this place in order to escape from the heat of summer and also from the extreme cold conditions of the winter season, besides visiting this place for its marvelous beauty and holy significance.
