Mirik is 49 kilometers away from Darjeeling and is 1730 m above the sea level. The surroundings, picturesque beauty and accommodation that are readily available here make it a suitable place to relax for a couple of days. One can also witness the Tea Gardens that ensure constant supply of tea to most of the regions in entire India.
The Tea Estates also serves as one of the attractions of Mirik. Located at a distance of 2 kilometers from Sumendu Lake is the Thurbu tea estate, which is considered as one of the best tea estates in this region. In order to visit this estate one is required to take permission from the authorities as it is mandatory for all the visitors. These tea estates are worth watching because of the greenery present in the tea farms. Besides this the farms are picturesque and attract the onlooker’s attention.
