Chimney Village is situated at a distance of 8 kilometers from Kurseong. There is a history behind the name of this village. Actually the British had constructed a chimney, which is 23 feet high, during the First World War. The British officers and soldiers had to trek to the neighboring villages, so they took rest under the chimneys of this village and thus the village began to be called as the Chimney village. This eye catching place snuggles on a valley where river Mahanada and river Teesta flow and presents a spectacular view of the Kanchenjunga Mountain. This village is enveloped by pine trees and offers various views of the beautiful surroundings. The magical view at the night time from this village, besides the slopes of the Himalayas, is really amazing. The rush of tourists to this place is scanty but it has plenty of things to offer for the tourists.
