Himalayan Mountaineering Institute Zoo is where the famous Mountaineering Museum, as well as the Everest Museum is located and it remains a well known place of the region. Run by the institute which gives training to mountaineers, this museum is famous for housing a huge collection of ancient equipments that were used by various mountaineers to scale different mountains.
Different specimens of a variety of fauna and flora adorn this museum, which also has a relief model of the mighty Himalayan ranges. Besides this, the museum boasts of rich collections of paintings, models, sculptures, manuscripts and books.
Situated next door is the Everest museum which traces the history of the people who have attempted to climb the Mount Everest. A statue of Sherpa Denzin Norbey who scaled the Everest along with Sir Edmund Hillary is present near the spot of his cremation. This attraction always remains on the must visit list of adventure lovers.
