Darjeeling Toy Train started to operate from September 1881 and in the year 1999 the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway attained UNESCO’S approval as a World Heritage icon. Siliguri is the starting point of the journey and the train comes to Z crossing at Chunamandi, where the train starts to reverse or zigzag so as to acquire higher altitude.
