This center is dedicated to the snow leopard breeding program. Snow Leopard comes under the list of endangered species. Efforts are being made throughout the world to put endangered species in confinement and the Snow Leopard Breeding centre also serves as a center for the same purpose. Snow Leopards have not been heard of breeding in confinement but Karan Maktan is said to have made it a reality. People are expected to maintain complete silence inside this center. The Snow Leopards of this center are put in large enclosures and showcased to visitors. The visitors enjoy watching a number of snow Leopards which is a rare sight these days. This also serves as an attraction for the tourists and people touring Darjeeling visit this place to have a glimpse of the snow leopards under captivity. Thus it is a great place to visit for wildlife lovers to catch views of this endangered animal.
