Description: Built in 1857, Christ Church is one of the prominent landmarks of Shimla. It was constructed to serve the large Anglican British Community. Designed by Colonel J.T Boileau in 1844, the church was constructed after 1857. The beautiful church made in neo-Gothic style has an ancient and exciting history of British Raj. Church has always been a fantastic tourist place and attracts nature lovers from far and wide. Adorned by a clock donated by Colonel Dumbleton in 1860 and a porch added in 1873, the Christ Church offers a magnificent view from vicinity of Shimla city. The church is witnessed the historical event of partition of India and survived various political upheavals, but it has still maintained its full glory. The elegant structure has five superb stained-glass windows each representing the special virtues of Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Patience and Humility.
