Location: A prominent Hindu temple, Simhachalam is located at a short distance from the city of Visakhapatnam, lying in Andhra Pradesh state in South India.
Description: The Simhachalam temple is dedicated to Narsimha, believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This temple is one of the eighteen Narsimha Kshetras which are present in the country. The statue of the deity remains covered with sandalwood paste for a large part of the year and only once a year the devotees are allowed to have nijaroopa Darshan. The temple is designed according to the Kalinga style of architecture while the architecture style used for the entrance of the temple is Dravidian. This west facing temple is visited by thousands of devotees and hence collects a large amount of revenue which makes it the second richest temple of the country.
