Location: Also known as monsoon lake, the renowned Lonavala Lake lies on the outskirts of the city at a distance of 1.6 km. This famous lake is present in the Lonavala district of Maharashtra.

Description: Lonavala Lake was built in the year 1876 and is sourced from the Inrayani River. This project was undertaken by the TATA Electric Company to conserve the area of Shirota and Valvan reservoirs. It is called as Monsoon Lake because with the monsoon showers this lake, which otherwise remains dry during the winters and summers, gets filled with water. Along the banks of the lake tourists can sight various species of animals and birds, which are present in abundance. Being a popular tourist destination, this lake is visited by large number of travelers who want to spend some time with their family amidst scenic surroundings. The serene ambiance of this place will surely provide you a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
