Description: Tikona Fort is a cardinal fort which is located on a hill in Maval in western India. This fort is one of the prime forts which were included in Maratha Empire. Tikona Peth or Tokono Peth is a village located nearby the fort and that is why this fort is known by the name of Tikona fort. It is believed that the fort was built in seventh or eighth century during Silhara dynasty, according to the vihara present in this fort. The nearby places, like the temple of Trimbakeshwar Mahadev and Satvahan caves enhance the significance of this fort and serve as popular attractions for tourists coming here from all over the world. The hilltop on which this temple is located is covered with green grass that makes it look more beautiful and attractive.
