Location: Hall of Fame is a famous memorial located near Leh’s Kushok Bakula Rimpochee airport. This museum is around a kilometer from the airfield on the Spituk-Kargil road and about 4 km away from Leh city.
Description: The Hall of Fame is a museum cum memorial, built by Indian army in the memory of heroic soldiers who lost their lives in the Indo-Pak wars. This memorial is built in a geometrical shape and it is maintained by the Indian soldiers. The Hall of Fame museum is divided into different sections; one of the sections is devoted to the Indian brave soldiers who lost their lives in war and is used to display weapons of enemies from the war location. Another section is dedicated to the soldiers who are present at high altitude and fighting with challenges every day. Thus this section includes stuff of their daily need, like clothing, snow shoes, frozen food, etc. This museum also contains a section which carries information regarding Ladakhi culture, history, vegetation and distinctive animals of this region. In this museum, you will find a father’s message to his son, Captain Vijayant Thapar who sacrificed his life at the age of 22 while fighting with the intruders in the Indo-Pak Kargil war.
