Description: Amarnath shrine is considered as one of the supreme pilgrimages by devotees. The holy cave is situated in a narrow gorge at the end of Lidder valley in Srinagar. Lacks of devoteescommence the Amarnath Yatra through tough terrains on foot every year. Ice-Lingam, a representation of Hindu deity Lord Shiva, is enshrined in the holy cave. According to legends, this shrine is the place where Lord Shiva shared the secret of life and eternity with his wife, Parvati. Devotees can travel from Jammu to Pahalgam and Batal using Jammu and Kashmir state road transport services.
