Main attraction of Kathgarh is the well known Shiv mandir. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati. This temple is located at the meeting point of the Choch River and the Beas River which is at a distance of 7 kilometers from Indora. There are two routes to reach this temple, one is from Mirthal village which lies on Pathankot-Jalandhar highway and the other one is from Indora. Kathgarh is at a distance of 4 kilometers from Mirthal. A famous legend says that once there was a war between Brahma and Vishnu as to decide who is superior of the two. Both of them were going to use Pashupata, which is a destructive weapon capable of destroying the entire cosmos; Lord Shiva in order to mollify them appeared as a fire pillar. The fire pillar got the name of lingam of Lord Shiva in Kathgarh temple.
