This park is also called as the Gopalpur Zoo and serves as one of the major attractions that draw the attention of wildlife enthusiasts. The park is positioned 13 kilometers away from Palampur and is considered as one of the main attractions of this region. People who visit this small zoo get a chance of seeing animals like different types of deer, red fox, sambhar, Asiatic lion, angora rabbits, black bears, leopards and many more. This National Park is spread over an area of 30 acres and it was established by the Department of Wildlife of the Himachal Pradesh Government. The climate of Palampur remains mild throughout the year; so one can pay a visit to this place during any month. However March to June that is the summer season is considered as the best time to visit this place. Tourists from entire Himachal, as well as other states visit this place for witnessing the incredible variety of fauna present here.
