This is training and educational institute for preservation and development of Tibetan culture and art and the founder of this institute is the respected Tibetan religious leader, Dalai Lama. The institute is at a distance of around 8 kilometers from Mcleodganj. Travelling by taxi or bus takes around half an hour or at the most one hour to reach this institute. Norbulingka Institute is spread over an area of 7 acres and this area has been preserved as a green location with bridges, gardens and ponds. No tree has been cut in this area for the construction of the college, library, guest house, workshop and the temple. Different aspects of the Tibetan culture and art are taught in different sections of this institute. A number of students from the local area and other places undergo training in this institute. Losel Doll Museum is the major attraction of this institute which presents more than 160 dolls that have been prepared in more than a decade. These dolls present the attire of the Tibetan people as well as other life activities performed by them.
