Bir is a famous tourist spot in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Majority of the residents of this place have their origin from the neighboring country, Tibet. Spiritual study centers of this place like Dharmalaya institute and Deer Park Institute are well known. Bir is well known for the adventurous sports that are available here; this place is considered as the paragliding capital of India. Various events of paragliding are held in the October month every year. Hang-gliding is one more activity that can be undertaken in this place. The period from March to May and the months of October and November are considered the best time for enjoying the game because weather during this time remains cool and the air is light. Beginners cannot undertake this sport. Training and latest equipments for this sport are required which are provided by various private tour operators present at this place. Various events are organized in the month of October like the ‘Para Gliding Pre world cup’ and seasoned Para gliders should take part in that event.
