This lake is a little deep fresh water lake, located at a distance of 9 kilometers from Dharamsala. The lake is positioned at a very high altitude and the water of this lake comes from the snow that melts from the Dhauladhar mountains. It is a very attractive lake enclosed by thick forests and presence of the Dhauladhar Mountains makes it even more beautiful. Water of this Lake being less deep and fresh, one can easily see the bed of the lake. Kareri Lake serves as a very good spot for trekking adventure. Ghera is 3 kilometers from this Lake which is considered to be the nearest road head. Tourists are supposed to start their hike from here so as to reach Kareri Lake. The tourists, as an alternative, can also take a 13 kilometer trek to reach this lake from Kareri. Kareri Lake is considered as a perfect place for a day picnic.
