Another holy teertham that boasts of Lord Vishnu’s greatness and benevolence, the Vaikuntha teertham in the temple city holds a remarkable significance for all pilgrims. Situated in the beautiful surroundings of a lovely cave, lying to the northeast to the main shrine, this teertham is associated with Vishnu’s incarnation in the form of Sri Rama.
It is a common belief that some of the monkeys found here witnessed Lord Vishnu’s Vaikuntha in the waterfall, and so it became known as the Vaikuntha Teertham. According to deep-rooted legends, a dip in the waters of this holy teertham is said to bestow goodness and fortune.
