Situated at a distance of 48 kilometers from Tirupati, the Sri Venugopalaswami Temple in Karvetinagaram is a legendary temple, which dates back to the 14th century and is said to have been sanctified by Sri Ramanujacharya. The magnificent shrine of this temple houses Sri Venugopalaswami as its chief deity. He is flanked by his consorts, Sri Rukmini Ammavaru and Sri Satyabhama Ammavaru.
The temple premises also hold a sub temple in the name of Sri Sita Ramula Pattabhishekam.
The architecture of the temple further proffers the divinity of this sacred shrine with exquisite carvings. A gopuram that displays dazzling craftsmanship of yesterday’s artists makes the temple architecture truly awe-inspiring.
The Holy darshans are scheduled between 6.00 to 11.00 hours and 16.00 to 20.00 hours every day.
The most important festivals celebrated here are the Brahmotsavam, Vaikuntha Ekadasi, Teppotsavam and the Gokulashtami.
