According to the local residents it is believed that after Dalai Lama came from Tibet, he took refuge in the queen of hills, Mussoorie. Jawaharlal Nehru, the then prime minister of India granted land to Dalai Lama and hence this temple was constructed. This temple houses prayer wheels and innumerous idols of Lord Buddha.
