Description: History of this place dates back to the time when India was still under the rule of British army. It is believed that from the Gun Hill canons were fired in the afternoon so that people can adjust their watches accordingly and hence this place got its name. Gun Hill is located at an altitude of 400 ft and houses the water reservoir of the hill station. This spot offers a photogenic view of the surroundings with snow kissed peaks of the Himalayan region on one side and the Mall on the other. While at this hill, tourists can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Doon valley and the town of Mussoorie. Adventure lovers can enjoy a ropeway ride that measures a distance of 400 meters. A steep climb up the hill can also be enjoyed by the tourists.
