Munsyari is a small town in Pithoragarh, a district in the state of Uttarakhand and it is located at a height of 2,298 m above the sea level. It is cuddled in the high peaks of the Himalayas and offers magnificent spectacle of natural glory. Sight of the Panchachuli peaks from Munsiyari is fascinating. Well known for its trekking adventures Munsiyari acts as a base for Namik, Ralim and Milam glaciers. Main occupants of this place are Bhotias. This place comes in the bordering area of India, Nepal and Tibet and is a restricted area. Musiyari has a vast amount of plant and animal species. Trees like deodar, pine and rhododendrons can be seen here. A variety of colorful birds like the Himalayan griffin, falcon, wagtail, monal, raven and serpent eagle are also viewed in this region. The elevated forests of this area serve as a home for musk deer, leopard and the Himalayan bear.
