Description: In the year 1936, a wonderful mansion called Sivananda Ashram was built along the banks of holy River Ganges. The ashram is established with a sacred thought of promoting spiritualism and providing devotees with a place for spiritual practice. There are many divisions of ashram all across the world and disciples of Swami Sivananda have initiated many independent organizations in different countries. Free literature is globally distributed by the Ashram among the devotees. Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy provides training in Yoga for human welfare. Spiritual knowledge is disseminated through the preservation of the ancient Indian traditions and cultural practices in the Ashram. Various training centers are opened to practice Yoga, along with medical centers for destitute patients. People are attracted towards the Ashram, irrespective of their caste, creed, color, country and position.
