Haridwar is well-known for its treasure trove of virtues, besides it is a home to several saints and assortment of spiritual ashrams, amongst which Sapt Rishi Ashram is known for its spiritualism and purity.
As per the myths the ashram is named so because of the legends that say that seven Rishis namely Vishwamitra, Bhardwaja, Vashisht, Gautam, Atri and Kashyapa performed meditation near the Sapt Rishi Sarovar, in Haridwar. It is believed that the holy river Ganges divides herself into seven small parts, so that the seven Rishis would continue their mediation for the well being of humanity without any obstruction. Besides it is believed that the constellation of seven stars is same as these seven Rishi, who later took the form a heavenly adobe.
The ashram is about 5km away from the famous Har-ki-Pauri. You can see huge scores of tourists who come here to visit this heavenly place and spend time in its religious ambiance.
