Positioned adjacent to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth campus in Haridwar, is the most remarkably built Bharat Mata Mandir. It was inaugurated in the year 1983 on 15th of May by late Smt. Indira Gandhi. The beautiful structure stands next to the holy river Ganges.
This eight storied building is at a height of about 180 feet, with each floor devoted to a particular god and is themed accordingly. It stands unique among all other shrines in Haridwar because of its attractiveness and structural design.
An unparalleled construction and competent artwork of Babu Shiv Prasad Gupt, is devoted to all the freedom fighters and leaders of India, who put in their efforts to form this beautiful country for us to live in. Due to this fact, this Mandir is also renowned as Mother India Temple Within its premises you can see a huge map of India made on its ground, representing the Goddess of India. Adding to its beauty is the great marble work used to design mountains, oceans and plains. Though the temple has no idol of any god or goddess, still it manages to gain major attention among tourists.
