Situated two miles away from Tirumala, Papavinasam is one of the highly regarded waterfalls of the temple city. Papavinasam, as the name says, is the place visited by all devotees with the belief that a holy dip in its waters would redeem them from their sins. Bathing and changing rooms are located in the vicinity for such pilgrims.
Gushing down from the top of a hill, the waterfall is accessible via a stony footpath, which makes for a picturesque walk. The reservoir of a nearby dam, which restricts the water flow in the pond and a well maintained park and garden add to the charm of the scenic surroundings.
