Location: A small town, that is located on the southeast side of the Nagercoil city in Kanyakumari, Swamithoppe can be reached easily by the travelers.
Description: This town is famously called as the home of Swamithoppe Pathi. Alternatively named as Swamithoppu, his place attracts a large number of visitors all around the year. The temples in this region preserve some of the articles which are believed to be used by Ayya Vaikundar. Being a pilgrim center, devotees visit this place to offer their prayers and take Prasad which is distributed amongst the devotees. Ayyavazhi religion is considered to be born at this place in the 19th century.
Activities: Tourists can visit various places of interest that are present in Kanyakumari. A historical well that is present in the city was believed to be the first well where people belonging to different castes were allowed to use water. A hill that has a historical background can also be found in the city. This hill was associated with various activities of Vaikundar. At Mutta Pathi, people are trained to eat once in a day and become strict vegetarians. A visit to the nearby sea named as ‘Milk Ocean’ can also be marked.
